Chelyabinsk (Russian: Челя́бинск chel-yah-beensk) is a city in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia.

Chelyabinsk is an industrial city, there is no getting away from this, however just because this is the case doesn't mean a visit is not worthwhile and fulfilling. Situated in the heart of the urals, It is a great gateway for the likes of Tanganay National Park and Lake Turgoyak. The city does have a strong soviet feel, and true Russian hospitality is ever present; it's a great place to get a feel of Ural Life in Russia. The area of Chelyabinsk is 530 km². The climate can be harsh for unprepared visitors. Those who want to visit the city in winter should be prepared for the temperature around 20-­30 degrees Celsius below zero.
